But I do have a serious question for you: What would it be like to change your notion of true kinship from one of a structured, prescribed concept to one of an ever-moving, ever-changing kaleidoscope?

What happens if you think of true kinship as “it works this way except when it doesn’t and there are a lot of doesn’ts?”

Here’s the thing…..true kinship with animals is a living, sentient being, just like the animals, you and me.

When I first started working with true kinship, I needed to have a set way to work with it because it was so far away from my colonized life. I needed to have the equivalent of a sequential computer program to guide me and help me recognize patterns and next steps. I believe we all do.

Now I’m learning to set that aside and think of true kinship as a kaleidoscope. This helps me see it as always moving, changing and creating patterns. Sometimes the animal takes the lead, sometimes true kinship takes the lead and sometimes I do. Envisioning true kinship as a kaleidoscope helps me distance myself from the colonized concept that humans are superions. Because……

……there’s one thing I know for sure and that is I do not spider nearly as well as Spider
