Hail Raven the traveler

Yesterday cat Raven passed away gently and easily here at home with me and his vet attending.

We’ve been together for over 17 years and it’s been a glorious ride together. It makes me smile that he passed during Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. With his love for warmth and sun, that’s so Raven.

I've shared his story about his illness and how he's been declining. Yesterday there was an emergency that brought things to a head.

He was literally jumping on and off furniture (and me!) until he wasn't.

This emergency drastically changed his quality of life and he let me know it was time for him to pass over.

We are grateful for the support we’ve received from many of you during his illness and hospice care. The support has been through kind words and contributions of food and money. The food and litter that is left will be donated so others can use it. The money will go towards his final vet bill and cremation.
