If you're caught between a rock and a hard spot on how society thinks you *should* treat animals (as animals) and how you treat them (as kin) this event is for you.
A basic truism: society’s ideas influence our every day interactions with animals and we usually accept them as truth. Why wouldn’t we? But if you stop and notice what’s going on, a lot of those ideas actually reinforce dominion over animals as an acceptable, common practice.
We need to ask ourselves, individually and in community, those hard questions, like:
how much of our love and commitment to animals is shaped by the ideas of a culture that in general values people over animals?
The animals deserve that honest exploration and so do we.
(Audio for the above:)
Here are some other questions: Where do your intentions lie when it comes to animals? Are you able to imagine a reality where animals are not second class citizens? Do you have the needed inner tools and knowledge to bring that imagined reality into lived reality?
If any of those questions pull at you, I think you’ll get a lot out of this event. Join me on Saturday, October 21 at 1 PM Eastern in a free, live zoom event and create community, new conversations and ways of being with animals that are not dependent on societal expectations.
When: Saturday, October 21 at 1:00 PM Eastern
Where: Zoom webinar - link provided upon registration
Spots are limited to insure enough space for all who want to delve as fully into this as we can.
BTW, I’ll be dropping tidbits about REIMAGINE on my instagram page and in the podcast. Both good places to find out more about this event.
Many thanks for sharing this announcement with like minded folx. I look forward to seeing you at the event!
